There are several of these units available.

They were originally used for capturing vent gas coming off trucks when they were loading. The vent gas is captured from the truck by the scrubber, then sent to flare. The drop out from the vent gas liquid/condensate accumulates in the scrubber, then tripping the level switch that turns the pump on, which then pumped the condensate back to the oil tank or wherever else designated to go.

Specifications:

• 18" OD vessel
• Approx 4 ft x 15 ft separator body
• Skid-mounted package
• Designed for LACT (Lease Automatic Custody Transfer) service

Separator Vessel

• Oil/water separation before measurement
• Non-code vessel (common for field units)

Pump System

• Gorman-Rupp gear pump
• ~3 HP motor (Class I Div 2 rated)
• 2.5" NPT connections
• Built-in relief (30–95 PSI range)

Skid

• Open oilfield skid
• Roughly 7.5' x 6.5' footprint

 What It’s Used For

This is standard in:

• Tank batteries
• Truck loading/unloading
• Oilfield production sites

Basically:

Scrubs VOC's in vented gas → Fuel condensate drops out → Pumps collected condensate to designated area

Pressure capability: varies by range (often up to 2,000+ psi line pressure)

Tornado Meter (Calgary, Alberta, Canada)

• Positive displacement / inline flow meter or flow element
• Used in LACT measurement systems

Measures fluid volume very accurately before custody transfer

Pump Package

• Electric motor driven ( ~3 HP)
• Moves product through the meter
